Life on display. Lost in the circle of perpetual sharing

A fundamental shift occurred: life was no longer something to be lived privately, but a performance to be endlessly staged. The primary audience was no longer the self but the anonymous crowd beyond the lens. Every moment, from the mundane to the monumental, became raw material for a public narrative, carefully edited to sustain an idealized version of the self.
This new imperative demanded constant visibility. People operated under the unspoken burden of proof—that their lives were exciting, successful, and meaningful—all measured by external validation. The result was a subtle but profound split: the private, imperfect person existed only to serve the flawless public persona.
They became trapped in a feedback loop of perpetual sharing, where validation was the currency. The more they displayed, the more affirmation they received, and the greater the need to display became. The genuine experience of life was bypassed, sacrificed in favor of documenting the look of that experience for immediate consumption.
